All about me!
Hey! I'm Bryanna Pichardo. As of current, I'm 16 and my zodiac sign is Pisces. I am the firstborn of a Dominican father and his Ecuadorian wife, both of who decided to start a family in Florida. Although I am part of two different backgrounds, my family is super close. When I was 6, I was given a baby brother, turning me from an only child to a child who is constantly accompanied, and annoyed 24/7. Despite that, I do truly love my brother and I'm pretty sure he loves me back. To add to my big family, I was given a dog named Valentino who just recently turned 3 years old.
One of my favorite things to do is drawing, sounds generic I know, but I have always been fascinated by the thought of putting my dreams and ideas onto paper for others to see. Like every other child, I started ruining paper with crayons and markers at a very young age. However, when I was in the third grade I told myself that I wanted to be an artist, but one who is taken seriously like Van Gough or Normal Rockwell. I would teach myself how to draw the characters on my tv screen and kept pursuing the idea of me being a successful artist. My family caught on to my eagerness and, thankfully, they supported my talent. I was gracious to art materials to further practice this hobby. I decided by 5th grade that I wanted to include my art in films.
A perfect segway into why I am taking this class. When I found out that Cambridge is offering a class that helps students understand film production, I knew I had to take it. I hope to make films that will be considered "A Classic" or "One of a kind", so this class will hopefully bring me closer to that goal. If it wasn't apparent already, I am a fanatic of films. I love to pick apart films, like what is the message of a certain shot of characters means or how the change of fashion throughout the movie describes the growth or development of a character. The Marvel franchise is easily one of my favorites as each movie can be drastically different from one another but still be enjoyed by many watchers. Wandavision, for example, was a show I was naturally drawn to due to as it told such a unique story of a grieving lover who also has abnormal powers. Even though the show is meant to appear as a light-hearted sitcom, there are directions made to also give off an eerie atmosphere and give the audience the impression that "something is not right". I am ardent about learning the "behind-the-scences" of films and excited to see what this class has to offer.
That's all you need to know about me. Thank you for taking the time to read my introductory post!
