Main Character Analysis

 Hello!

On my last post, I have described the costumes for our characters. However, I wanted to go more in depth of these characters and explain every detail, both on the outside and inside.

"Preppy"

This is my character! 

Describing the physical characteristics: she is tan, however has vitiligo in different parts of her face (I actually have vitiligo and I think it is cool how everyone is cool to have her with this feature). She has straight hair that is often styled in different ways, for example, high ponytails or all down with a simple headband. She, like her friends, are around 5'3. 

Costuming: She is inspired from the early 2000's aesthetic and will wear baby tee's and tracksuits. We wanted her to wear more bright colors, primary pink, but had found darker, earthy tones. So she will have a mixture of both color themes. 

Props: When creating this character, I had instantly thought of a girl who cares a lot on her image and focuses her attention on "fun" topics, like boy groups and shopping. So in her room; I want to put up posters that contains artists and celebrities that she may enjoy, magazines that talk about the recent Hollywood feud, cd's of the music she likes, and ofc makeup scattered. Overall goal is to capture that pinky, girly teen.

Personality: On the outside, she is very bubbly and kind. Despite the stereotypical, popular=mean trope, we wanted to keep a caring and friendly girl. She is the sun in the friend group. Not only does she bring a smile in everyone's face, but she is the source of gravity that keeps the friend group aligned. Cute analogy right haha!

However, she is struggling internally and does not display her insecurities and issues. Although she keeps her appearance clean and "perfect", she is far from it. The times we do see her by herself, she is alone with a tired and a permanent frown on her face. 

"Grunge"

This is Anais' character!

Describing the physical characteristics: She is fairer than "preppy". She has semi-long, light brown hair with the occasional "pop of color", streak of hair. She has a septum and two earlobe piercings on each ear (I'm outrageously envious). Although we are describing the grunge character, this look and aesthetic is similar, if not exactly the same as Anais which helps us greatly.

Costuming: She will long sleeves with graphics, baggier jeans, and belts, She will wear a lot of accessories, being necklaces, earrings, bracelets and even rings. Her character will stick to a darker color pallet.

Props: Similar to "Preppy", the character will be a fanatic of music, mostly punk and rock. Posters of her favorite artists will be scattered around her room along with tapestries. Musical instruments will be used as this character is passionate on creating music. Her room will be darker, in the sense it holds darker colors yet is a welcoming and comfortable room. 

Personality: This character is not as outgoing as "preppy", but likes to isolate herself from time to time. She is introverted by choice. I like to consider her as calm, as if she does not have a care in the world. A free-spirited soul who enjoys most of her time to be with her guitar or her two closest friends.

After the disappearance of "preppy", she has seem to get more energetic and expresses her emotions in loud manners. A huge difference from her original self. As her whole character acts different, she tries to go back to that person she once was.

"Nerd"

This is Malavika's character!

Describing the physical characteristics: She is tan with long, curly black hair. She usually keeps her hair in buns or in hairstyles that keeps the hair away from her face. She wears glasses (I know stereotypical) and wears dainty jewelry. This character has a light and 'barely any color' color pallet. 

Costuming: Her character does not care much on specific fashion trends. Comfy over stylish. So sweaters and sweater vests are more her style. Again, she will not wear heavy jewelry but small, simple necklaces and a ring or two. Nothing crazy.

Props: This character also likes to listen to music, but more classical and century music. We want to have records or posters showing her favorite artists. Also, she is a big reader, so we can have stacks of books near her. Her room is super neat and has little decoration, but more academic décor like medals, certificates.

Personality; This character is not at all sociable. She is a tad bit awkward, but is super comfortable when hanging out with her friends. She is smart and focuses all her attention and willpower in her academics, so she will constantly carry around a book or binder. 

After the disappearance of "preppy", she becomes even more silent and keeps to herself. She does not express her emotions towards the situation and shows fear to growing closer to her remaining friend.
