Costuming
Helloooo!
So today, we are going to discuss the costuming for our characters.
My character: I want to have saturated, and light colors. My character is into fashion and is confident in her style. The character would wear skirts, baby tee's, track suits, and lots of accessories. She is very into her appearance, so we want to put effort into her outfits.
For hairstyles, I wanted to have picked up styles or have accessories in the hair. Here are some examples:
Anais: To match the grunge aesthetic, we want to focus on darker color pallets, like blacks and reds. Anais suggested to inspire the character in a Rockstar aesthetic, which I describe it as someone who does not care too much on their appearance. but they look very cool. So messy-ish hair, statement pieces and "slept-in" makeup.
Malavika: Her character is based on the nerd/girl next door. I take a lot of inspiration from Rory Gilmore from the Gilmore Girls (One of my favorites). Rory has an academic feel in her clothing at the beginning of the show, with sweaters, jeans and a jacket, skirts and vests, etc. I want Mal's character to appear that she has very interest in her appearance but not to the point she walks around looking like a mess.
Here is hair inspiration for her character!
For my character, I had went thrifting with Anais and Malavika in order to find pieces that match our vision. Thankfully, this trip had went super successful and I had found some pieces that we thought would be good. The initial vision was for a pink, pastel color pallet, but we were unable to find pieces that matched. However, we found a two velour jackets, one in brown and the other in a teal color. We had also found brown pants to match the brown jacket. I will use my clothes that I currently have, like leggings, flared leggings and baby tees to create other pieces.
