Finished project feelings
Hello!
On my last post I briefly spoke on my feelings about the project. Now that it is complete I am able to form my thoughts.
Setting:
For my and Anais' character, we filmed at our respective rooms, However for Mal we did not film in her room or any part of her house. Each character somewhat represents the actor, so I feel that shoot Mal's scene in my room does not feel authentic or believable. But we had to make do, so shooting her scene in my room was the best option.
Editing:
I feel like two minutes is too short. When simply putting the clips next to each other, it landed at 5 minutes. If we were allowed more time, I would have put a few more clips to transition better. But I think I had did a good job setting up the plot and introducing the characters.
Music:
I am surprised at the music we had found. After being told that used copyright music is forbidden, and being told the idea Anais and Mal made, I was kind of in doubt. In my opinion, copyright free music is not as good as copyright music, and we knew that we cannot ask our favorite artists to lend us their song for a project. But after researching and finding these songs, I felt good about the final product.
Props:
Did we get props that matched our original idea? No. Why? Because we have no money haha. But I think the props we used were good enough to establish each characters' personality and interests. For example, my liking Kpop really came in handy as you can see photos and items that relate to my favorite artists.
Camera quality:
Again, I feared that the camera quality was going to be horrible. Our phones do not have good quality to record decent films. But after lending the camera from the school, we were able to make a decent quality film, The grainy textures added to the aesthetic of the film and I truly enjoy how it looks.
Overall, I feel at peace with our film. Not what I imagine but my imagination tries to imagine an Oscar nominated picture, which we will not get. However, I was humbled by how hard it is to capture a story with limited supply and time. It inspires to me to see how far I can push myself to create an even better film in the future.
Thanks for listening to my rant! See y'all later!
