Outside Help!

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to create a special post to thank all everyone who helped in making our project! I am very grateful that my peers where able to take time out of their day and helped us whether it was providing us equipment, help with shooting or even give us ideas!

Nicole:

I only became friends with her just this year, however I had grown close with her in the past few months! I have her in my Media Studies class and she had been the biggest helper with my group's project. At the beginning we had joked around giving each other silly suggestions but then it turned into "maybe you can include this..." or "maybe instead of this you can do this". She was our outside perspective and helped us correct many continuity errors. She came with us when we need to films certain scenes, she helped take behind-the-scenes photos and also film stuff that we couldn't. She had also gave me access to the handy cam to help film our video as well as gifted me premiere pro! Isn't she so generous! Nicole was our long-lost member! 

Now a quote from Nicole:

"I love how this film turned out. It has an eclectic mix of different character with different personalities. I was happy to put in my two senses and contribute. It was a lot of fun to hang out with my friends in this type of new way. They also helped me with my film. Every moment I spent working on this film will be memories I'll never forget. Thank you Bryanna for giving me this opportunity." 



Ashley:

ASHLEY! I loved growing our friendship throughout this journey! We were already friends, but we had distance. However... we were able to grow and learn from one another as we did our individual projects. Ashley gave a lot of suggestions, both silly and serious, and comment a lot on errors. So in summary, we would bounce off a lot of ideas and she basically said if it sucked or not! Although she was not apart of our group, she made the experience enjoyable and make it feel like it wasn't project.

"The production and shots were absolutely breathtaking, my draw was certainly on the floor after the first watch. I love the portrayal of different personalities and I love how they all connect. This would definitely be on my MUST WATCH list if it were to get released in theatres. 


Elliott:

Lovely Elliott! My dear friend is a photographer and editor! So when I was editing our project, I had them give me advice on different techniques and styles to incorporate into the film. We had a fun time rewatching clips and viewing the behind the scenes. I know it does not sound a lot, but I learned a lot and was able to make my project, what I think, very lovely. 


These were my main contributors to my silly little project and I am so grateful to have them help out in their own ways! THANK YOU GUYS <3

 Let's talk lighting! So, to put this out there, we do not have these fancy equipment big budget movies have to create these amazing, eye watering scenes. But we have practical and natural lighting! Natural lighting: Me personally, natural lighting is the most beautiful kind of lighting. We had shot some scenes on bright, sunny days so it captured a beautiful aesthetic to our film. Even inside, we had used natural lighting in one of our scenes where my character was in the kitchen/dinning room. Title Sequences!

 Hey! Welcome back.  The use of title sequences are nothing new. Having different clips edited together at the beginning of the movie is the best way to subtly introduce the audience to what they are about to experience. To be honest, I personally skip any intro sequences that don't raise my arm hairs, or sends a shiver down my spine. I enjoy title sequences that makes me excited to watch the film/show. Here are my 5 favorite title sequences and how they contribute to the over all show/film. Scott Pilgrim vs The World I could go on and on about how wonderful this movie is and how much detail was put in. At the beginning of the movie we are introduced to Knives Chau, who has just got into a relationship with our protagonist Scott Pilgrim. She comes over to the house to introduce herself to Scott's bandmates. The title sequence begins with her watching the band perform one of their songs. Five Video Shot!

    Hello there! In the past few classes, we talked about different types of camera angles and shots. We discussed how they are used in film and how they help advance any feelings the director might want to include. For example, an extreme close-up shot is commonly used to help explain what a character's feeling. After being taught these techniques, we were asked to create some example shots of our own. With the help of some friends, I was able to experiment with different camera shots. Establishing Shot: This was the first shot I recorded. Similarly to many movies, I wanted to take an establishing shot to show the area I will be recording all my videos, my school's garden. Just from this shot alone, the viewers are able to tell that it is taken place during the daytime, with sunny weather.  Close Up: While looking around to shoot for a close-up shot, I found this pretty butterfly.
