Who I want in the film!

 Hey guys!

This blog post I will discuss who I would cast as these my group's characters! Now sit down cause this will be interesting... at least to me.

For my character:

Because I am Latina, I want other Latina actresses to represent the character. I have two in mind. The lovely Xochitl Gomes and Jenna Ortega.

Xochitl is my first pick. Not only is she my age, but she has a bubbly and outgoing personality that can easily be translated to the character. After watching Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she was able to capture the comic book character's personality and made me quickly like her performance. She also has this confidence when wearing any piece of clothing she puts on, a huge fashion icon! So when I think of the ideal clothing items for my character, I feel like she would pull it off exactly how I imagine.

Jenna Ortega is my second pick. I know. I know! She is mostly known for her screams, straight face, and negative portrayals, but she was not always like that. I remember her from my childhood where she was a Disney star in the show Stuck in the Middle. I loved the show and loved how she was outgoing, talkative and always smiling, just how I pictured my character. Also, she is being considered the new scream queen, which I can agree. Her performance in X and Scream 5 & 6 were insane! I would like to take the film in more of a horror-mystery vibe, where she would be perfect for.

They are also beautiful actresses which can make it believable that the character is popular and well-liked.

Mal's character:

Now this one is tricky. Sadly, I am not well-versed with South Asian actors and I do not want an actor that fits the negative stereotype, but rather someone who is just simply nerdy and "normal", like how Peter Parker is portrayed in the MCU. However, I had thought about it and here are my options:

Iman Vellani instantly came to mind. Ok, you got me... I am a big Marval fan but hear me out! Ms. Marvel, or Kamala Khan, is nerdy and awkward! She played her perfectly and captured that silly, imaginative character to the tea! Although Ms. Marvel is the only reference I had seen from her, I think she could capture our character just as well and even bring a smile to this weird and crazy story.

Edwina Sharma is an actress I am pretty new to. Although she has a British accent, I am sure she is able to learn an American accent haha. Before watching episodes of Bridgeton, I saw clips and photos of her being serious and emotional. In my movie, there will be tears and timid moments, and she can act under those conditions. She also looks soft, with doe eyes and contagious smile, it can draw the audience to sympathize with her throughout the movie.

Both are gorgeous and I believe these actors can play Mal's character well, but I am sure Mal has her own options as she is aware of many South Asian actors.
