Preparing to film

Welcome back guys! Today, I wanted to explain what each member will be doing, and the overall game plan for the project. Actors: Obviously, my team, including myself, will be acting in the trailer. However, we want to include background characters for our classmates to participate in. Bryanna- "Preppy" girl Malavika- "Nerd" girl Anais- "Grunge" girl Costumes: I feel that this will be an obstacle we are going to face as we don't want to spend too much money on clothes we may never wear again. The plan is to go thrifting to save money and potentially find pieces from the early 2000's, as that is the aesthetic we want to achieve. Props:  Similar to costumes, I fear this might be difficult to find due to the aesthetic we wish to achieve. Thankfully our parents still have objects from our youth that we may find beneficial, like an old phone or computer!. If worse comes to worse, we can find objects from thrift stores. Locations: I feel as if this is th...

Initial storyboard

Image
Hey guys! So my group began planning our storyboard for the project! This was a bit difficult and we might make some changes to it, but here is what we have so far.           This is out first page. In the beginning it'll be a black screen fading into the scene. It begins with the "grunge" character doing home work. We will have a medium close up throughout this shot, along with the home work shot. With the homework shot, we wanted the scene to help tell the credits, so on the homework page it has the actor's name! Pretty cool idea right?  After messing up on her homework, the "grunge character" throws her scratch paper off screen. Through out this scene we want music to compliment the character, but played very low. So like rock music? Maybe even metal? This is our second page. The first scene is the paper missing the trash can, but it is the other girl, "nerd girl", picking it up. This is a close up shot and match cut. Next is a ...

Mood board for Trailer!

Image
Hello! After we came up with the idea for our final project, we decided to do a mood board in order to better capture a feel of our trailer. Each member made their own mood board. Mine:      Alright so I decided to go column by column to help separate each character and vibe I want to portray. In the first column, the top photo is how I imagine the characters to interact. The second photo is an area we want to shoot, being by a park. The last photo is an activity I think it would be fun to shoot.      The second column is the first character and her aesthetic. I based my photos from the early 2000's chick flicks like Mean Girls. This character is very girly and will wear a bunch of pinks and pastels, like the stereotypical popular girl.       The third column is our second character which has more of an alternative style. I based it off Freaky Friday and a bit of a 70's feel. This character will be the famous rebel/alternative girl...

Final Idea!

Hey there!  I have been talking to my group on what our final idea will be, and we have figured it out. Not much has changed on the idea I had presented earlier, but here is a quick synopsis. We beginning with three friends who are complete opposites of each other. However, they are close and care for their friendship more than anything. It is set in the early 2000's. The friends do everything together, until one day one of the friend disappears. We obviously will not put the reason why this friend leaves, as it creates wonder in the audience. The other two friends are set to live their lives as much as possible, while dealing with their grief. A coming-of-age story!  One of my favorite genres is coming-of-age so I really like this idea we had created. I know this will be a fun project to do with my friends. I am worried on my expectations, as I tend to expect the best of the best and forgetting we are high school students. I am also worried on balancing this project with our ...
